State of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Requirements
  • Life/Health licensees are required to complete 20 hours with 3 hours of HI rules.
  • Property/Casualty licensees are required to complete 20 hours with 3 hours HI rules.
  • Dual license holders are required to complete 30 hours with 6 hours HI rules.
  • Expiration dates are on the 16th of each month and completed credits must be reported to the state department one month prior to expiration date.
  • Course provider is responsible for reporting course completion to the state.
  • Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party.
  • Excess credit hours may not be carried forward.
  • Courses are repeatable every renewal period.
    • * To take final exam online
    • Exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party
    • Proctor must be present during entire length of final exam
    • After completing and submitting exam online, a downloadable version of the Affidavit for Test Administrator form must be printed out from the computer which the exam was taken and signed by the proctor.
